These two are obviously switches taking turns ...
I suspect she's got a strap-on under the bathrobe. He used his turn at being the master by having her serve him breakfast in bed. Can you guess what she's going to do on her turn?

This picture is so full of stupid that I don't even know where to begin. Okay, let's go with this one: Are they both blind or on crack? Where the hell are they looking?

The man might be looking at a TV (which would be in a rather strange place to watch from the bed) or out a window (in which case his bed is probably located in a lousy position for window-viewing) or at an off-frame stripper (or some other very distracting thing that we have no way of reasonably guessing at) or just staring off into space (unlikely, as his eyes don't seem to be looking straight ahead). Whatever way, he doesn't seem to notice or care that he's being served.

And the woman is staring at the place where the wall and ceiling meet for no apparent reason. You'd expect her to be looking to either see his reaction or to watch how she's putting the tray down so she doesn't spill it all over him.

No, no -- she's not allowed to make eye contact with her Master till he gives her permission. ;-)

This Christmas, nobody goes down...
I wanted to get a look at those "really different" Christmas ties mentioned in the ad.. but only turned up this gem. :D It wouldn't let me embed the image, but here's the link.

Van Heusen vintage Christmas ad.

Most of the Van Heusen ads were pretty cheesy...

Re: This Christmas, nobody goes down...
Wow! Thanks for the linkage, Jon! I enjoyed your tie blog, and realized that I likely have several ties from this company, just because I saw them at a thrift store, and liked the graphics, especially on a lot of the older ones. Plus, silk.. what can I say. :) I'm a fabric content snob.

How on earth do they make a shirt with no visible stitching? I must have one, so I can take it apart!

One of my favorite euphemisms is: "a rousing game of Up the Chimney" (tm someone on the thrifthorror community)

It's an ad for aesthetic sadism.

Ah, yes, the good old days, when America was successful...before the days of liberal progressives destroying all our values and ruining the country.

What a shame.

Sorry to contradict your mythology, but 1950 (the only year I've seen mentioned with respect to these ads) was after the New Deal and before National Review was founded, Barry Goldwater ran for President, etc.

No apology necessary; I really don't expect you to know any better. Besides, did you really think that the New Deal was going to cause the world to fall apart in just a few decades? Just like tooth decay, liberal progresives have been rotting America for a long time.

It's only now that the tooth is finished rotting from the inside-out that we see the resultant decay in society, and in our government. We are ready for collapse into anarchy...or worse, socialism.
