It's finally happening!

For years, I've been on-again, off-again working on a book on polyamory.

It's been discouraging, in that all the publishers I've talked to want me to make it a personal memoir, and that's not what I want to write. The project has been languishing for a while, by which I mean for several years, lost beneath the shuffle of More Important Matters.

It has finally, at long last, been resurrected. My sweetie Eve and I have started working on a new book, one that combines her ideas about polyamory and mine. It's going to be a monster--it's looking to shape up as a 500-page hands-on guide for folks who want to explore polyamory, chock full of problem-solving ideas, hints and tips.

We've launched a new blog which will contain progress notes, ideas and essays that don't fit into the Web site More Than Two but also don't make it into the book, and more.

We're going to crowdfund this project; to get around the small but nevertheless still niggling issue that publishers want a different book from the one we want to write, we're launching a full-fledged publishing imprint to go along with it.

If you'd like to know more, check out the blog and keep watching this space!

This sounds awesome. I hope you'll post the link to the Kickstarter (or whatever similar site you go with) when you're ready to accept donations :D

He will, but please go to the site and sign up with your email address, too (box on the right). That gives us an easier way to keep track of how many people are actually planning to support us.

Congratulations on getting serious about getting the content together for a book, there are lots of people struggling to find themselves out there but missing one or two foundational principles which keeps them bound to traditional relationships. There is nothing wrong with tradition per se, except when societies enforce tradition by sabotaging the lives of those who have the courage to choose how they are going to live their life

For all the crap I give you in the comments and being hypercritical of your casual opinion -- which is wrong of me to do -- you are very knowledgeable when it comes to having the courage to be who you are, to live your life without having to pretend to fall in line with enforced tradition. Your thoughts and opinions can and do help those struggling

so I felt I needed to say, Thank You, for the work you do presenting information to give others the tools, strength, and strategy to choose to exercise their freedom, to put the liberty we have to use to pursue happiness. Without encouragement from people like you, many folks would give up and conform, which is sad. It's sad because without having the courage to live as the people/person they really are, they can live a full life and die without ever figuring out Who they truly are. It takes courage to do that, that courage is needed, people need the encouragement of those who have that courage -- of which you are an exemplary example -- so I hope you do get that book out, because not everyone is as lucky as we are to live in the Pacific Northwest where non-traditional people are less shunned.

Let me know when your books comes out, as people who write with the purpose of helping others will always have my support
