God bless the Internet

[name withheld]: So what is polyamory? You get to fuck whoever you want?
tacitr: Not exactly. Polyamory is not about fucking anyone you want; it's the practice of maintaining multiple simultaneous long-term, committed romantic relationships.
tacitr: It's about relationships (which may or may not be sexual), rather than about sex.
[name withheld]: okay
[name withheld]: Do you have a picture of your cock?

Sigh.

well, do ya? *laughs*

i think it takes anywhere from 3 months to 6 years for the concept to sink into a person's head when they are willing to try to grok it.

I think I'm going to make that my random meeting a new person question.

"This is your new secretary."

"Oh, nice to meet you. I look forward to working with you. Do you have a picture of your cock?"

I like it.

Re: What they heard
Yep, sounds about right.

Kind of reminds me of the old Far Side cartoons: "What we say to our dogs, and what they hear" and "What we say to our dogs, and what they hear."

Which is, of course, the source from which I sto^Wtook my inspiration.

Why is he asking you...??
I guess he thinks you're an expert or something...you probably were, for a while. But you dropped the ball badly sometime back and showed a side of your character that was best not to let anyone see (although I think 1 or 2 had seen a preview before).

Don't know what I'm talking about? I know more than you could ever imagine Franklin...

Thank you for the award, which I accept, with one amendment. I do not especially need to "feel better about myself", any more than any other person on this earth. But thank you for thinking of me!

Re: Why is he asking you...??
Hi Ruth!
Have you noticed that Franklin doesn't respond to your posts anymore? There's a word for a person who follows someone around, who delusionally thinks they know them and who sends creepy little notes.

We call that kind of person a stalker. Honestly Ruth, no one here is listening to you. I'm very happy for you if you've found some people to gossip with about Franklin. I hope that you feel that it's time well spent. But I humbly request you find someone else to stalk. There's plenty of fresh drama out there on LJ for you to feed on. The only thing you're inspiring here is pity.

Re: Why is he asking you...??
It seems that the world has gone a little mad when an infrequent posted comment invokes an accusation of 'stalking' - a rather ridiculous response. You left out 'sociopath' and 'tramp' as well...

It is hardly worth my time responding to you actually, since you are irrelevant. So write or feel or think whatever you wish - it matters nothing to me.

Re: Why is he asking you...??
What a total fool you appear to be - you don't even get the sociopath & tramp connection. I find this particularly amusing, since I defended Franklin and his girlfriend against these respective labels and wore some flak because of it. Thank you, this bit has really made me smile! =)

The steady stream you describe has been a trickle. Sure, I have been highly critical of Franklin in the past, but I don't consider what I have said 'hateful' - the words 'hysterical overreaction' come to mind.

But don't let this stop you, go on, get those tiny fingers moving and tap out some more puerile insults. They may provide some amusement for Franklin & co., but I will never see them.

Knock yourself out...

::sigh::
If I had a dollar every time someone met me online and the conversation took that particular turn, I wouldn't have to worry about money anymore.

Re: ::sigh::
I hear there are jobs where you CAN get a dollar for every one of those online conversations! Or something like that. :)
