People Unclear on the Concept

Microsoft, in their ongoing efforts to make computers and computer-related products easier to use, has an Official Windows Vista Help Page explaining how to open the box that Windows Vista comes in.

If they need a Web page explaining how to open the box, the cynic in me suggests that they're still a little fuzzy on this whole idea of "user-friendly"...

What do you expect? Its microsoft ....

If you follow the instructions and don't know whether to expect software to come out or the minions of hell, that's bad..

"I dunno, some dude with pins all in his face and shit walked in right after I got it open"

I've always found that programmers work best if you have one of their children tied up in your basement.

I'm so not looking forward to my next PC buy.

it's unfortunate that many people call the help desk and ask how to open the package. having opened a few of those packages, i can tell you that it's a remarkably simple procedure. sadly, there are a remarkable number of simple people in the world.

Sorta like on the airlines where they have the instructions written on the safety guide to say if you don't understand the instructions, ask to be reseated :)

Gee, if only the software inside that package had such great security...
